Grifols, S.A., a company founded in 1940 and headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, specializes in the development, manufacture, and distribution of therapeutic products, with a primary focus on those derived from human plasma. Its operations are organized into several divisions. The Bioscience division is dedicated to researching, producing, and marketing plasma-derived medicines, such as immunoglobulins, alpha-1 antitrypsin, albumin, and clotting factors, along with other innovative treatments for chronic, rare, prevalent, and life-threatening conditions. The Hospital division provides non-biological pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, clinical nutrition solutions, intravenous therapies, and medical devices. The Diagnostic division develops, manufactures, and commercializes diagnostic products that span the entire healthcare continuum, from prevention and screening to diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of diseases and treatments, catering to professional healthcare providers. The Bio Supplies division offers essential biological materials for life-science research, clinical trials, and the manufacturing of pharmaceutical and diagnostic products. These diverse offerings enable healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat patients suffering from conditions like hemophilia, immune deficiencies, and infectious diseases. Grifols serves a wide array of clients, including public and private healthcare organizations, wholesalers, distributors, group purchasing organizations, blood banks, hospitals, and national health systems. The company also maintains a technology collaboration agreement with Mondragon.
